We have 4 hot air balloon competition events in the UK during 2014 and observers will be used at all events.

UK Competition Dates for 2014

GP1 ~ 26/27 April in Kidderminster, Worcestershire 

GP2 ~ 17/18 May in Stroud, Gloucestershire

Nationals ~ 17/23 August in Berkeley,Gloucestershire. (First flight Sunday 17 morning, last flight on Saturday 23 morning, and an evening Prize Giving on Saturday 23rd.)

GP3 ~ 20/21 September 2014 in Pidley, Cambridgeshire 

Attending UK Events

We don’t operate a pool system for observers, each pilot is responsible for bringing an observer to the event. Pilots can only compete if they bring an observer, and the responsibility is on the pilot to look after their observer during the event in terms of accommodation etc. 

In the weeks before the events pilots often ask the Chief Observer if any observers are available to come to the events. 

There’s no money in the club to finance observer travel or accommodation, so any expenses would have to be discussed between the observer and the pilot, or observers will need to finance the trip.
